The Government of India launched the scheme for Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) with effect from 14 November 2005. The eligibility criteria, procedure to be followed and the online application form are available at:

Travel Advisory for OCI Cardholders
All the OCI Cardholders are hereby informed that it is mandatory to carry both old and new passports in case the OCI cardholder is traveling on the strength of OCI card bearing old passport number in it, to avoid possible denial of permission to board the flight at the airport.
