In his opening address, H.E. Mr. Arun Goel, Ambassador of India to Croatia, reflected on India’s journey since independence and highlighted the recently concluded visit of Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, to Croatia, which has further strengthened the close bonds between the two nations. He also emphasised the opportunities for deepening cooperation across diverse sectors, underscoring the growing partnership between India and Croatia.
The Embassy was honoured to welcome H.E. Mr. David Vlajčić, Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he stated that he was deputed by the Prime Minister of Croatia and conveyed greetings of H.E. Mr. Andrej Plenković on India's 79th Independence Day. He also reaffirmed the enduring friendship and growing partnership between India and Croatia.
The evening featured a rich cultural program showcasing India’s spiritual and artistic heritage. Guests were mesmerised by the Veda chanting of the Veda Union, the graceful Kathak performances by Ivana Surya and the Ana Jug troupe, a Kuchipudi dance by Ramya Reddy Karajula, and soulful music by “Shakti & The Vibe Tribe”, all of which created a vibrant atmosphere celebrating the harmony of Indian and Croatian cultures.
The Reception concluded on a note of warm camaraderie, cultural exchange, and shared appreciation for the values of freedom and friendship that continue to unite the people of India and Croatia.
