The Embassy of India in Zagreb, in collaboration with the Croatian Indian Society, organised an Open House Session on 24 September 2025 at HKD Napredak in Zagreb as one of the Thematic Activities for the Special period from 15 September to 2nd October, as well as under the fortnight-long synchronised initiatives "Viksit Bharat Run" covering "Diaspora empowerment".
Ambassador Arun Goel, along with Embassy officials, engaged in an interactive dialogue with the Indian community, addressing consular matters and key issues concerning Indian citizens in Croatia.
The session also featured valuable insights from distinguished Croatian experts:
- Ms. Lucija Koren, Croatian Law Centre
- Ms. Sunčica Brnardić, Executive Secretary for Labour Law and Labour Market, Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia, joined by Ms. Višnja Katalinić
- Margareta Gregurović, Senior Research Associate, Institute for Migration Research
- Ms. Željka Đurić, Senior Expert Associate, One-Stop-Shop, City of Zagreb
Discussions covered:
-Consular services provided by the Embassy: Insight into Croatian Law on foreign workers
-Labour laws and employer–employee relations
-Societal integration and promotion of human rights
The open house concluded with a lively Q&A session and networking over refreshments. The Embassy of India reaffirms its commitment to serving the Indian community in Croatia and fostering stronger people-to-people ties between India and Croatia. Encouraged by this successful beginning, the Embassy will continue this series of open house sessions to remain closely engaged with the community.
