The MoU was concluded between the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi, India, and the University of Zagreb, Croatia. The agreement establishes the ICCR Chair for Sanskrit Language at the University of Zagreb, aimed at promoting the teaching and study of Sanskrit and strengthening cultural and educational ties between the two nations.
Under the terms of the agreement, the ICCR and the University of Zagreb have agreed to collaborate in the establishment and functioning of this academic position. The Sanskrit Professor appointed under this initiative will serve a two-year academic term, contributing to long-term teaching and academic engagement. The MoU itself will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of signing, with provisions for continuation or termination by mutual agreement, in accordance with the outlined procedures.
The appointment of the Sanskrit Professor will follow a structured selection process as defined within the agreement. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to fostering cultural exchange and advancing the study of classical languages and humanities.
