The event was attended by nearly 200 distinguished guests, including dignitaries from the Croatian Parliament, Ministries and Institutions, members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of Croatia–India Friendship Societies, and members of the vibrant Indian community in Croatia.
In his opening address, H.E. He underscored expanding economic cooperation, and the opportunities that the forthcoming India–EU Free Trade Agreement will create for Croatian businesses in India. The Ambassador also highlighted renewed cooperation in Sanskrit studies, the strong people-to-people bonds reflected in more than 60 International Day of Yoga events across Croatia, and growing engagement with Croatian youth through India Days at universities and institutions across the country. Speaking on India’s transformation under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, he emphasised innovation, digital transformation, sustainability and inclusive growth, as well as India’s growing role in shaping safe and beneficial artificial intelligence.
The evening featured a rich cultural programme showcasing India’s artistic heritage. Guests were mesmerised by performances of Kathak presented by an eight-member ICCR troupe led by renowned Kathak exponent Padma Shri Dr. Shovana Narayan, who is visiting Croatia as part of the cultural programme.
The Reception concluded on a note of warm camaraderie, cultural exchange, and shared appreciation for the values of freedom and friendship that continue to unite the people of India and Croatia
