On 13 October 2026, Embassy of India, Zagreb had the pleasure of organising ITEC Day at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb.

The event opened with welcome remarks by Professor Maja Rožman, Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts, followed by an address by H.E. Arun Goel, Ambassador of India to Croatia.

ITEC Day provided an excellent opportunity to learn more about the numerous opportunities offered by the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme, which enables professionals from Croatia to enhance their skills, gain new knowledge and participate in training programmes across a wide range of fields in India.

The programme featured inspiring presentations by Croatian ITEC participants and travellers who shared their experiences and insights:

* Draženko Pandek, Member of the State Electoral Commission of the Republic of Croatia

* Tomica Marković, PhD Research Assistant at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture

* Vjekoslav Last, Croatian traveller and motorcyclist who documented his journey from New Delhi to the high-altitude region of Ladakh, India

The event also celebrated the connection between Indian and Croatian cultures through creative activities. Students of the Academy of Fine Arts painted Indian-inspired elements, while a traditional Indian Rangoli art display introduced participants to an art form symbolising prosperity, harmony and goodwill.

In his address, Ambassador Goel also highlighted opportunities for closer collaboration between the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi and the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, including joint workshops, exhibitions, academic exchanges and artist residencies.

A sincere thank you to the Academy of Fine Arts, all speakers and participants for contributing to this meaningful exchange and helping strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between India and Croatia
