The Indian Cinema Days were opened last evening (11 December 2017) at the Metropolis Theatre, Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, with the screening of the popular film ‘Bang-Bang, an Indian ‘James Bond’ style action thriller. The event was well attended, with very positive feedback from the audience. As an acclaimed critics said, “We did not know that India, too, produces such stylish and technically advanced films”.

The Indian Cinema Days are aimed at educating the local populace on the development of the Indian film industry. India currently produces around 1,600 films per year. Bollywood, in particular, is a booming industry, providing entertainment to more than a billion people in India and abroad.

The Festival will conclude on 17 December 2017. This is part of Indian Embassy’s cultural outreach programme to build understanding of India through the powerful medium of the films, depicting both the social reality as well as the dreams of the ordinary people coming alive on celluloid.
