  • 5th October 2024 : Ambassador Arun Goel participated at the 9th Traditional Indian Chariot Festival 'Rathayatra' organized by ISKCON Zagreb on the 5th of October, 2024. It is a joyful and important day when we witness the Historic Ratha-Yatra (Festival of Chariots) pulled through downtown Zagreb passing through main Squares in the heart of Zagreb which replays the 3000-year tradition of Odisha, India. Ambassador Goel congratulated every devotee associated with ISKCON. He highlighted Lord Krishna's teachings and their relevance for our individual & social development.

  • 22 August 2024 :Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of Independence Day of India, Ambassador Raj Kumar Srivastava hosted a Reception in Zagreb in which 200 guests including dignitaries from the Croatian Parliament, Ministries and Institutions, Diplomatic Corps, Croatia-India Friendship Societies and Indian community members participated. In his address Ambassador highlighted the journey of India in the past 77 years in which the past decade has placed India into an exponential growth trajectory, making a solid foundation for the next two and a half decades when India would be contributing globally in strengthening peace, progress and prosperity.

  • 8th April, 2024  - Ambassador Srivastava partipated at the 3rd Annual Charity Chess Tournament, held on 7th April in Zagreb, organized by the Hrvatski šahovski savez, Croatian chess grandmaster and host of the HRT show 'Chess Commentary' Alojzije Jankovic. The timeless game, which originated from India, gathered numerous famous personalities in the third edition of the humanitarian tournament with the aim of collecting funds for the children's departments of the Pula General Hospital and KBC Split.   • 27th March, 2024 - Embassy of India, Zagreb and Open University Zagreb organized the well attended lecture by Ambassador Srivastava on Contemporary India: Politics & Economy: “A Story on Human Centric Governance, Growth & Globalisation and about the Forthcoming Parliamentary Elections in India". The presentation highlighted India's civilisational heritage as the foundation for its current Human-Centric approach towards governance. The Ambassador interacted with the attendees, which included diplomats, students and Friends of India and shared the data & details on how the transformation that is taking place in India into a democratically, demographically, & digitally empowered nation is ensuring inclusive & sustainable green growth.   • 21st March, 2024 - In connection with the celebration of the Vishwa Hindi Diwas (विश्व हिन्दी दिवस) 2024 with the Indology department and ICCR Sanskrit chair at the Sveučilište u Zagrebu a special Hindi poetry book Bharat was released. The poem collection is a presentation of 30 poems translated into Hindi from the Croatian poetry book “Slon Siroče” written by the first Ambassador of Croatia to India, Drago štambuk. In his view the Book “Bharat” will contribute to a better mutual understanding between Croatia and India, fostering his poetic insights into a friendly and civilizationally important country; bringing India and Croatia even closer together. Ambassador Srivastava, who edited and curated the book "Bharat" expressed that these short poems revolve around the civilizational legacy of Vedic knowledge of Bharat, the secret of the universe, the values and experiences of humanity, the true nature of reality, nature, love and blissful union with the Supreme. The book was presented in front of important contributors of the Indology department for the past decades, esteemed members of the Croatian Indian Society and many other promoters of the India-Croatia partnership. The attendees saw the cultural performances of poetry, and dance music in Hindi from Indology students showcasing their expertise in the language and affection towards Bharat.   • 15th December 2023 - On the occasion of India’s National Mathematics Day which is celebrated every year on 22 December on the birth anniversary of legendary Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, a seminar was held at the Faculty of Science,
    Department of Mathematics, where the beauty of mathematics as seen by Ramanujan
    as the thought of God was presented, and connections between Indian & Croatian mathemati
    cians were described. Mathematics as the language of the universe naturally has connected people of the two countries, in the same way as Sanskrit is seen in deep-meaning words in the Croatian language. People-to-people ties get stronger by recognizing different fields where we work together and where we see common heritage.

  • 30th November 2023 - India was the partner country of CroArgo and Healthy Food and Living fairs. At the opening, Ambassador Srivastava referred to the legacy of Nikola Tesla that the secrets of the universe can be understood by thinking in terms of frequency, vibration and energy, and expressed his happiness that the fair started with blissful Indian classical music on Sitar & Tabla. Healthy Living is a mindset and lifestyle matters more than medical issues. 90% of global ailments are connected to three issues Anxiety, Metabolism, and Stamina and stability. Broadly speaking all three have direct solutions through healthy living using principles of Yoga, Meditation, & Ayurveda, all three of which would be presented through consultations and workshops during the fair with India as the partner country.   • 21st June 2023 - The final celebration of this year’s International Day of Yoga was held on June 21, 2023, in Park Bundek (lake stage) with 100 attendees, organized by the Embassy of India in Croatia.   • 16th May 2023 - Ambassador Srivastava participated in the open discussion organized by the Croatian Indian Society at HKD Napredak Zagreb "Exploring India & Croatia ties in R&D projects" with Prof. Mirko Orlic, FCA, Andrija Mohorovicic Geophysical Ins., Fac. of Science, Uni. of Zagreb who held a lecture on “How the discontinuity became Mohorovičić's” about the work of Croatian seismologist Andrija Mohorovičić, credited with discovering and defining the Moho Discontinuity in 1909. Ambassador Srivastava invited the attendees to join the strong ongoing R&D ties between India and Croatia which are connected already through several institutions which could create new potential breakthroughs for scientists and the youth of both countries.

Mr. Raj Kumar Srivastava, Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia, visited the University of Rijeka on Thursday, March 30, 2023, accompanied by Mr. Ivan Delić, Information and Cultural Assistant at the Embassy. This is the Ambassador’s third visit to the University, and this time, he visited Rijeka to open the Rijeka part of the initiative related to the International Year of Millet (IYM).   • 24th February 2023: Read the article from the Croatian National Television titled "From St. Blaise to Bollywood, an unbreakable connection since the 15th century" refers to the strong India-Croatia & Grad Dubrovnik-Goa ties that date back from the 15th century, mentioning the ongoing week of "India in Dubrovnik" which ends on 26th February. The article points out that in recent years more and more tourists from India want to visit Dubrovnik because of the films that are shot here. Ambassador Srivastava mentioned that last February, a well-known Indian film production company shot a movie in Dubrovnik that would be released this year, and would surely increase e awareness about Dubrovnik in India.


  • 23rd February 2023 : As part of the "India in Dubrovnik" week on 22-2-23, the University of Dubrovnik hosted Ambassador Srivastava, with a lecture on the topic "What to expect from India in the next 25 years" for the students of the University of Dubrovnik. Ambassador Srivastava expressed his satisfaction with the India-Croatia ties on all levels of cooperation, which has grown rapidly in the last few years and invited the students to explore New India in the forthcoming Cultural week of India in Dubrovnik.   • 12th February 2023 : A two-day International Summit on Renewable Energy Sources (INSORE 2023) was held in Dubrovnik, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture from Zagreb, in cooperation with the North East Renewable Energy Lab from India.   • 25th January 2023 : Ambassador Srivastava gave an interview on the occasion of the ODOP exhibition at the Ethnographical Museum, Zagreb. The exhibition of the Embassy of India in Zagreb and the Ethnographic Museum presented the project "One district, One Product" by which the government of the Republic of India strives to preserve traditional crafts and improve the social and economic position of artisans.
