About Us Attestation of Documents

Applications for following Consular Services are required to be submitted in person at the counter of Embassy of India in Zagreb. Deponent to appear before Consular Officer and sign in his/her presence.

  1. Power of Attorney

  2. Sworn Affidavit for issuance of passport to a minor child residing in India

  3. Life certificate for pensioners

  4. Copy of Indian passport (front and last details page only)

The Hague Apostille Convention, 1961, abolishes the requirement of legalization of foreign documents for use in any member country, once an Apostille certificate (including e-Apostille) has been issued by a competent authority of the country where the document originates. Therefore, no further attestation or legalization by an Indian Mission/Post of an apostilled document is required for use in India as India is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.

Therefore, Croatian documents like Educational certificates, Degrees, Croatian Passport, Salary slips etc will have to be apostilled by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Government of Croatia. Since both Croatia and India are members of the Hague Apostille Convention 1961, any Croatian document duly apostilled by DFA does not require any further legalisation/attestation by the Indian Embassy for use in India.

For submission of documents to a Country which is not a member of The Hague Apostille Convention, 1961:- Documents issued by Indian authorities (such as Educational Documents issued by Educational Institutes in India, Marriage Certificate, PAN Card, Aadhar card etc) will be attested by the Embassy only if the documents are attested/apostilled by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Note: Format of the POA would be as per applicant's requirements in India.
