India in Croatia (Embassy of India, Zagreb) along with the Indology Department of Sveučilište u Zagrebu hosted a celebratory evening for the 60th Anniversary of the Indology Department, #HindiDiwas2022 & #SanskritDiwa Ambassador Srivastava acknowledged the rich 60-year-old history of the Indology department and the future prospects which would strengthen even further the ties between India and Croatia.

The presence of ICCR’s Hindi as well as Sanskrit Chair for the first time ever in Zagreb augers well for an even brighter future of the India studies in Croatia. Three hour-long program included speeches by Vice Dean of Filozofski fakultet Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, Amb Raj Srivastava, highly regarded Prof Mislav Jezic, Head of Indology Department Prof Ivan Andrijanic, 5th Hindi Chair Prof Meenu Krishna and 1st Sanskrit Chair Prof C B Jha. The students presented both literary and cultural programs during the evening showing the strong bond between & . As a tribute to Presidency to G20 currently, the students also prepared and read the Hindi, Sanskrit & Croatian translations of PM Modi’s Op-Ed released on the inaugural day of India’s G20 Presidency.
