Ambassador Srivastava was received by the Sveučilište u Zagrebu, Department of Geophysics Head Prof. Danijel Belusic and Prof. Mirko Orlić, Prirodoslovno-matematički fakultet Sveučilišta u Zagrebu. Ambassador got familiarized with the work of Croatian seismologist Andrija Mohorovičić, credited with discovering and defining the Moho Discontinuity in 1909. Mohorovičić observed that waves caused by earthquakes travel at two distinct paths, one directly through the earth’s surface and the other through the high-velocity medium, thus discovering the Moho. Ambassador Srivastava stressed during the visit the strong potential for India and Croatia ties in R&D projects which would create the academic and scientific path for the next 25 years between #NewIndia and Croatia when India would grow at unprecedented rates due to favourable economic parameters and resolve of people of India to convert the current opportunity into reality.
