On the Occasion of the 74th RepublicDay of India, the Embassy of India in cooperation with the Etnografski muzej, Zagreb inaugurated a 2-month long exhibition showcasing the products, of the highly successful and empowering ODOP (One Product One District) initiative of the Government of India. The event witnessed speeches by Ms. Goranka Horjan, Director of the Ethnographic Museum in Zagreb, Ambassador of India to Croatia Raj Kumar Srivastava & Guest of Honour, Director of the Directorate for Archives, Libraries and Museums; Ms Anuška Deranja Crnokić on behalf of the Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Ms Nina Obuljen Koržinek as her emissary.

The event highlighted the strong India-Croatia ties in the field of Culture. Ambassador Srivastava referred that the “One District One Product" (ODOP) as a transformational step towards realising the true potential of a district by converting each district of the country into a manufacturing and export hub, fuelling economic growth, generating employment and rural entrepreneurship, taking us to the goal of Self-reliant India. It is an initiative to empower the people which democratises opportunity creating human-centric growth through human-centric governance & human-centric globalisation.

Also, the event announced the theme of India's G20 Presidency "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" or One Earth, One Family, One Future, which affirms the value of all life possible. Lastly, the exhibition has a special section highlighting the International Year of the Millet 2023, declared by the United Nations. This event was attended by several distinguished guests from Croatia and high dignities from various countries & ministries of Croatia.
