FREE LECTURE IN COLLABORATION WITH THE EMBASSY OF INDIA

Ambassador Arun Goel and Mrs. Pallavi Kararha, Second Secretary (Commercial & Consular), were received at the Croatian Dragon Brothers Society premises by Prof. Dr. Mislav Grgić, Grand Master of the Society, Mr. Drazen Vikič-Topić and Mr. Zoren Korecic on the 17th February. The Croatian Dragon Brothers Society is a cultural association founded in Zagreb nearly 120 years ago (in 1905) with the purpose of preserving and restoring Croatian cultural and historical heritage, reviving the memory of events from Croatia’s past and notable Croatians.

Ambassador Arun Goel was received by the Headmaster of Naive Art Museum Mrs. Nataša Jovičić. The Croatian Museum of Naïve Art was the first museum in the world to be devoted to this kind of art. It was founded in 1952, after the first generation of self-taught Croatian naïve artists had made their reputations and started to achieve important successes.

Ambassador Arun Goel visited the Croatian Museum of Natural History (Founded in 1846), a central national institution that collects, professionally and scientifically processes and presents its holdings, which testify to the development of nature and man in the Croatian region. Ambassador Goel familiarised the representatives of the Museum with the latest Technological developments in India.

Ambassador Arun Goel was received by the Director of the Technical Museum Nikola Tesla Mrs. Markita Franulić. The specialized museum of technology has also a showroom dedicated to the invention of Nikola Tesla, who in 1893, met Swami Vivekananda, and found inspiration for energy concepts in Eastern philosophy. Swami Vivekananda mentioned how the scientific mind of Nikola Tesla learnt from Vedanta and how the connection between spirituality and science resonated with the potential to transform humanity.

Ambassador Arun Goel visited Infosys in Karlovac. Infosys introduced the Ambassador to their presence in Croatia in 2016, currently employing more than 100 mechanical engineers. Ambassador Arun Goel visited on the 4th February the City of Ozalj and Ozalj Local History Museum. Famous Croatian noble families such as Frankopan and Zrinski have lived in the Ozalj castle for centuries, and today it is recognizable for its historical importance and preserved appearance.

Ambassador Arun Goel and HOC Mr. Chander Mohan were received by the head of the Croatia-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Veljko Kajtazi on 30th January and MP's Zvonimir Treskot and Krešimir Čabaj. MP Kajtazi presented to the Ambassador the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and emphasized the positive and proactive developments in the bilateral relationship. The high-level engagement highlighted the great potential that exists for the benefit of the people two countries.

One of the largest gatherings of Indians and friends of India celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India at the Chancery premises with great fervour and enthusiasm. The National flag was unfurled by the Ambassador of India to Croatia, Mr. Arun Goel, followed by singing the National Anthem and reading the Hon'ble President of India's address to the Nation. Attendees were treated to a sumptuous Indian meal with hot Tea.

During Ambassador Arun Goel's visit to Varaždin, he also the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, one of the leading educational institutions in Croatia, and a meeting was held with the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Sc. Marina Klačmer Čalopa , the Vice-Dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Martina Tomičić Furjan, and the Head of the International Cooperation Office, Izabela Oletić Tušek, to discuss the possibilities and expansion of cooperation between the Faculty of Organization and Informatics and the Indian Embassy in Croatia. The meeting discussed the possibilities of joining other Indian universities and initiating new forms of cooperation, emphasizing the great interest of Indian students in Croatia, according to the ambassador. The ambassador offered support in these steps and suggested the inclusion of FOI employees in specialized programs in India, which would enable them to gain valuable knowledge and experience

Mayor of the City of Pula, Filip Zoričić hosted a reception in the Communal Palace for Ambassador Arun Goel on Friday, 29th November. In the continuation of the meeting, both officials also discussed the possibilities of future cooperation in the field of culture and ways of exchanging experiences and examples of good practice in areas of mutual interest.
